Rust prevention for galvanised iron wire

Dec 09,2024

Galvanised iron wire is used in practical applications is very common, some people think that galvanised iron wire will not occur rust, in fact, it is not, the next galvanised wire manufacturers will introduce the knowledge of rust prevention of galvanised iron wire.
Galvanised wire manufacturers produce hardware products, the main problem in storage work is to prevent corrosion. Metal corrosion is caused by the chemical or electrochemical action of the surrounding medium. According to different media, it is divided into atmospheric corrosion, soil corrosion, sea water corrosion, bacterial corrosion and so on. Atmospheric corrosion is the most common, because metal products in the process of processing, transport and storage when the process, are in contact with the atmosphere, there are always atmospheric corrosion conditions.
Corrosion or discolouration of customary metals in the atmosphere caused by oxygen, water and other impurities is known as rust or corrosion. Rusty metal products, lightweight impact on the appearance of quality, serious impact on the use, and even lead to useless, so in the custody of the metal products, must be properly stored, pay attention to rust prevention.
Galvanised wire manufacturers briefly describe the main factors that cause metal rust:
Atmospheric relative humidity at the same temperature, the percentage of water vapour content and water vapour saturation content in the atmosphere is called relative humidity. At a certain relative humidity, the corrosion rate of metal rust preventive oils is small, but higher than the relative humidity, the corrosion rate suddenly increases. This relative humidity is known as the critical humidity. The critical humidity for many metals is between 50 per cent and 80 per cent, while the critical humidity for steel is around 75 per cent. Atmospheric relative humidity has the greatest effect on metal corrosion. When the humidity in the atmosphere is higher than the critical humidity, water films or droplets appear on the surface of the metal, and if the atmosphere contains harmful impurities that dissolve in the films, droplets, electrolytes and aggravate corrosion.
